Some good to know tips:
The USB, Fire wire ports at the back of the HD PVR (3400 series and 6400 series) are inactive/disabled by Motorola to prevent copying copyrighted material to an external hard drive.
HDMI to HDMI cable carries video as well as audio.
DVI to HDMI cable carries only video.
With a Dual Tuner PVR (3080,3412,3416,6412,,6416) you can watch one show and record another, or you can record two shows on two separate channels.
Do not place anything (like a DVD player) on top of your DCT. Always have a clearance of about 8-10 inches above your DCT so that the components have adequate ventilation and do not get overheated.
Novus does activate DCT’s from other service providers at no extra cost provided the DCT model is supported on their system. Please Note: Some times there might be certain issues which might prevent reprogramming the DCTs from other providers.
In case your DCT has issues and needs repairs Novus will get it repaired for the customer provided the DCT is under warranty. Also during this time Novus will provide you will a Loaner DCT so that you do not have any service interruptions at all. To check for warranty please call Customer Service at 604-642-6688.
