Your television set could be in ANTENNA mode. Follow your tv's owner's manual to change the input setting to CATV or STD.
Please ensure that VCR is turned off.
Your television set could be in SAP (Secondary Audio Program) mode. Follow your tv's owner's manual to change the audio setting to MAIN.
This could happen if there is signal interference. Make sure your coax cable is securely connected to your tv and wall outlet. If you have VCR connected, try bypassing VCR and directly connect TV to the wall outlet.
DCT shows a black screen?
It could be because:
1. The TV is on the wrong input. OR
2. There might be an issue with the DCT. The easiest thing to try would be to un plug the power cord from the back of your DCT and then plug it back in after 20 sec. This should resolve the issue..
I am missing a few/all channels and they say “One Moment Please”.
It could be because
1. The tuner on the DCT is not functioning correctly. OR
2. There might be an issue with the signal levels in your apartment. In either case call Novus Technical Support and they should be able to further assist you as to what needs to be done.

It could be because
1. You are not subscribing to those particular channels OR
2. Your account on the system is not setup with the correct packages.

DVR on my HD receiver keeps saying it is currently unavailable or disabled by the cable operator ?
Novus does not disable customers hard drives. This could be either because there is an issue with your hard drive or it is getting over heated.
It could also be because the DCT unit was recently power cycled. It takes about 15 minutes for the DVR to be available once the unit is power cycled.

All of my recordings do not show up when I press LIST on the remote.
You can call Novus customer service to get the hard drive reset and see if it resolves the issue. If not the DCT needs to go in for repair.

How do I reprogram my remote ?
1. Press MUTE + OK (Press both buttons together and all the lights will start blinking)
2. Press 002
3. Press CBL
4. Press OK
DCT shows a red light on the LCD what does it mean ?
It means either of the two things:
1. Either there is a set recording that is currently recording a show/movie (Top right) OR
2. There is an important message from your service provider about a channel change or a free preview or something similar. (Top left)
How do I check for messages on my DCT ?
On your remote press Menu-> Home -> Setup. If there is a message waiting there will be an option to read when you scroll.
How do I create recordings for my favorite shows ?
There are a few different kinds of recordings that could be set up.
Record your current show/movie.
Setup series recordings for your favourite shows.
Setup future recordings for your shows/movies.
All these can be setup from Menu-> DVR and then selecting the appropriate recordings that you want to create.
How do I add new channels online ?
Go to
www.mynovus.ca and log in with your account credentials, on the left hand side under Cable TV there is an option to
Upgrade Digital Services. Once there it shows your current services and the available upgrades as well as instructions as to how to add those channels. Once you hit the Apply Changes button it should take a few minutes for those channels to be available on your TV.
Security Channel
No, the security channel is not available on digital only receivers. In these cases we need to install a cable splitter that would make it available to you.
I cannot order PPV movies from my remote.
1. PPV hasn't been setup correctly on your account. OR
2. PPV has been disabled. Call Novus technical support to enable PPV on your account.
How do I order PPV from my online account management ?
Go to
www.mynovus.ca and log in with your account credentials, on the left hand side under Cable TV there is an option to
Order PPV. Once there select the movie you want to order and once ordered, it should show up on your TV within a couple of minutes.
How do I order PPV from my remote ?
Click on Menu on the remote and select the PPV option. Once there it gives you the option to display your pay per view options by title, time, event, adult. Select your option and
then select the movie you want to watch. Click on BUY and then confirm by clicking Order Now.
